Los dos tintos de gama tradicional de Viña Sastre, tanto su Roble como su Crianza, suelen desmarcarse siempre de sus semejantes de Ribera del Duero por tener un plus de profundidad y de complejidad que los ensalza y distingue. Son vinos de calidad, muy bien hechos, potentes y complejos, maduros, que destacan por su sobriedad y su elegancia. Están elaborados de forma tradicional, sin grandes pretensiones y con una crianza muy sensata y honesta, que responde a la filosofía de la bodega, definida por el respeto de la tierra, el trabajo en el campo y el cuidado de la viña. Reflejan la identidad de la Ribera del Duero y se enmarcan en un perfil de vinos nobles y elegantes. Además de un buen Crianza y una apuesta siempre acertada, Viña Sastre Crianza se caracteriza por su gran frescor y de él sorprende también la presencia de fruta roja, cuando la más habitual en los vinos de Ribera del Duero son los arándanos y la fruta negra. Fruta negra y fruta roja, madura pero tersa y vigorosa, que fluye en boca, acompañada de notas florales, pimienta negra, finos tostados, notas cárnicas y una notable mineralidad. Su frescor y complejidad se deben seguramente a la cuidada selección de uvas y a la altitud de los pagos donde se encuentran los viñedos, los pagos de Las Navas, Caroa, Carrasantamaría, Fuentenarro, Valdelayegua, Cañuelo, Carranaguix y Bercial, todos ellos situados en Roa, provincia de Burgos, a una altitud de 815 metros. Sobrio y elegante, un vino especialmente imponente en boca, jugoso, con mucha fruta y una acidez espectacular, que se disfruta plenamente y sin prisas. Envejecido durante 15 meses en barricas de roble francés y americano.

Ribera del Duero is located in La región de la cuenca del río Duero, de unos 115 kilómetros de longitud y 35 de anchura, situada en la confluencia de las provincias de Soria, con 19 municipios, Burgos, con 60 municipios, Segovia, con 4 municipios y Valladolid, con 19 municipios, pertenecientes todos ellos a la comarca vallisoletana de Campo de Peñafiel. Comienza aproximadamente por el este en San Esteban de Gormaz y se extiende hasta Quintanilla de Onésimo en el oeste.
