Con nombre de pago, Carroleón es el resultado de una larga estancia en barrica y en botella en una antigua cueva subterránea llena de historia y una noble invitación a conocer el desarrollo de la variedad prieto picudo en crianza. Envejecido durante 15 meses en barricas de roble francés.

The production region of D.O. Tierra de León is located in El sureste de la provincia de León, Castilla y León, España, a la que también están adscritos otros municipios de las provincias limítrofes de Zamora y Valladolid. Abarca la influencia de dos riberas, Esla y Cea, siendo esta última donde originalmente se formó la asociación de bodegas y cooperativas Valdevimbre-Los Oteros, que posteriormente daría paso a la actual denominación.
