Hécula reúne concentración, intensidad de color, mineralidad, frutosidad y una textura admirable. Elaborado únicamente con uvas de monastrell, procedentes de cepas de 60-80 años de edad, recibe una corta crianza de 6 meses en barricas de roble francés (80%) y americano (20%), sólo la mitad de las cuales son nuevas. Es un vino aparentemente sencillo, que sorprende por su complejidad, frescor y buena estructura. Armónico, amable, sabroso, muestra ese sutil toque de madera que equilibra el conjunto y hace más agradable su paso por boca. Como se admira el propio Parker, es "probablemente demasiado bueno"; nadie se espera un vino excepcional a este precio, pero Hécula Monastrell es "realmente excepcional". Envejecido durante 6 meses en barricas de roble.
