Los primeros pasos de esta bodega empiezan a dar sus frutos a finales del año 2001, como resultado el acuerdo de colaboración entre la Familia Gil y Chris Ringland, uno de los mejores enólogos australianos. La primera cosecha que se comercializa es la correspondiente a la añada 2002 bajo las marcas El Nido y Clío. En la campaña 2009 se elabora la primera cosecha de Corteo que completa la actual gama de vinos de Bodegas El Nido.
